My Voice Will Go With You
Digital prints on canvas, photographs, and a two-channel video, Kunstverein am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, Berlin, 2020
My Voice Will Go with You is a quote by Milton Erickson, the American psychiatrist who regularly used hypnosis in his practice. The exhibition used elements of hypnosis to offer another view of our surroundings and explored parallels between hypnotism and artwork when it is understood as a communication medium. The three elements of Ericksonian hypnosis—confusion, concentration, and metaphor—were used as the structural framework of the exhibition. A text explaining the connection is available here.
The exhibition consisted of an installation, a series of photographs, and a two-channel video that was also visible from the square in which the exhibition space was located.
