1/3
Installation with drawing boards, city plans, annotations, photographic collages, videos and prints on textile, 2025
1/3 is a quote from an interview with botanist Stefano Mancuso, the co-founder of the Laboratory of Plant Neurobiology. Asked how to prevent climate change, Mancuso suggested planting forests on one third of all roads and streets. This project looks at Zagreb as a case study and applies the idea to a spatial, visual and archival experiment.
The exhibition was developed for the Richter Collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb, housed in the former home and studio of Vjenceslav Richter, artist, architect, EXAT 51 member and author of the utopian project Sintart, which reimagined modes of living and working in the city. 1/3 is an appeal for positive transformation, a homage to Richter’s legacy, and a personal act of remembrance as the building was also the site of the artist’s mother’s first professional work as a young architect.
